Our ideal clients are ambitious, multifaceted individuals balancing careers, families, and personal goals—often while feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward.

Our ideal clients are:

  • Professionals and high-achievers ready to break free from cycles of stress and self-doubt.

  • Women in transition—whether through divorce, career shifts, or midlife challenges—seeking clarity and confidence.

  • Those striving to overcome self-worth or relational challenges and who are ready to embrace their authentic selves.

Who Might Benefit from a Different Approach

At VastMind Wellness, we’re committed to providing personalized, compassionate care to women ready to invest time and energy into their growth. However, we recognize that our approach may not be the right fit for everyone.

If you’re seeking quick fixes, unable to commit to consistent sessions, or not quite ready to engage in the self-reflection process and the effort needed for meaningful change, we may not be the best fit—but we’re here to support you when you’re ready to take that step.

We focus on long-term transformation and collaborative effort. If that resonates with you, we’d love to help you create the life you’ve been striving for. If not, we encourage you to explore other options that align better with your current goals and circumstances.

Origin Story

The journey to building VastMind Wellness has been anything but linear—every twist and turn shaped the mission and vision behind this practice. Picture it: El Paso, 1990s (not Sicily, 1943, but Golden Girls fans, you get it). I was a nerdy, curious kid who loved figuring things out, making people laugh (hello, theater kid), and diving into debates just for fun. But finding the right career path as an adult? That took some trial and error.

I knew I wanted to help people solve problems, so I explored traditional career options—earning a biology degree with an eye on medicine, then working at a law firm to test out legal life. But neither felt like the right fit. Volunteering at a crisis hotline changed everything. For the first time, I realized my true passion: helping people navigate life’s challenges. That spark led me to pursue psychology, applying to DePaul University’s clinical psychology program in Chicago, IL, which combined rigorous scientific training with a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Note—although the numbers of racial/ethnic minority psychologists are increasing, APA showed minority psychologists only accounted for 17% of the psychologist workforce in 2019.

Fast forward to 2024. After years of working in agencies, a few things became crystal clear. First, my best work happens with professional, high-achieving women who strive for growth but feel stuck under the weight of endless demands. Second, the limitations of agency work—rigid treatment plans, overwhelming caseloads, and systemic constraints—were stifling my ability to make a meaningful impact.

But the real turning point wasn’t about me—it was about the women I worked with and the ones I saw around me. Women pouring everything into their jobs, families, and communities, all while doubting themselves. Women struggling alone, either because they didn’t know where to turn or were too used to carrying the burden solo. Women fighting for seats at tables designed to exclude them. I realized I had to step up—not just to help individuals but to contribute to dismantling and rebuilding systems that perpetuate inequity.

And so, VastMind Wellness, PLLC was born. This practice is about empowering women to break cycles, overcome self-doubt, and create lives they genuinely love. Whether it’s addressing intergenerational trauma, managing the anxiety keeping you from pursuing a promotion, or navigating a tough life transition, my goal is to provide personalized, evidence-based therapy that equips women with the insight and tools they need to thrive. Because when women thrive, they inspire change—not just in their own lives but in the world around them.

More about my style

  • Clarity and Honesty: provide clear and tactful feedback, helping you better understand your thoughts, behaviors, and patterns. This honesty can eliminate confusion and lead to faster personal growth.

  • Nonjudgmental and Client-Centered: I strive to meet you where you are, approaching our work with openness, respect, and a genuine commitment to understanding your unique experiences, all while moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

  • Accountability: encourage you to confront difficult topics or emotions, fostering greater self-awareness and personal responsibility.

  • Humor: while therapy can be serious, I believe in humor's power to connect and heal. Much like the witty humor in Curb Your Enthusiasm, a well-timed laugh can ease tension and create relief. Embracing those awkward "Larry David" moments helps us release perfectionism and appreciate life's messy reality. Humor cuts through heaviness, fostering genuine connection and personal growth.

Theoretical orientation: integrative, foundation in third wave cognitive behavioral approaches (ACT, DBT) with a humanistic lens and consideration of cultural and systemic factors. In other words, the therapist-client relationship is my main focus, and I use a combination of scientifically-supported techniques to support you in your goals!

The key is to find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and supported. I look forward to answering any questions you might have during our introductory call!

I think of my role as collaborative facilitator, helping you explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences to uncover the root issues of your struggles and set meaningful goals. While my expertise provides valuable tools and insights, therapy is a partnership—we work together to find what truly resonates and drives lasting change for you.

Our work begins with understanding your values and priorities, using them as a foundation for setting goals that reflect your authentic self. Together, we’ll explore your experiences and patterns to identify the underlying causes of the challenges you face. This in-depth exploration helps to illuminate what’s been holding you back and provides clarity for the path forward.

In addition to reflection and insight, I equip you with practical skills to break free from limiting patterns, navigate challenges, and build healthier relationships. These tools are designed to empower you to make intentional, informed decisions that align with your values and vision for the life you want to create.

Ultimately, my goal is to support your self-discovery and growth, fostering independence and confidence so you can lead a life rooted in authenticity, resilience, and purpose.

When I’m not in session, you can find me buried in a book (that may or may not end up as a coaster), binge-watching docuseries (reality shows count, right?), or indulging in my love for travel, which mostly involves eating my way through new cities. I’m also experimenting in the kitchen, with varying levels of success, and of course, savoring delicious food with family and friends. Oh, and I spend a lot of time being bossed around by my canine companions!

I’ve always had a bit of a rebellious streak, challenging the status quo when it doesn’t align with my values or the path I want to create. Of course, that hasn’t always gone smoothly—I’ve had my fair share of setbacks and faceplant moments along the way. But hey, those missteps have just fueled my growth, pushing me to embrace risks and keep rethinking what’s possible—personally and professionally.

I bring an authentic energy to my work, much like the relationships I value most. I look forward to getting to know you and walking with you on your journey!
