Women’s Counseling: Break Patterns & Create Lasting Change
Empowering Women to Break Free from the Limiting Cycles Holding Them Back from Living Their Best Lives
Stuck in the Struggle: Spinning Your Wheels and Going Nowhere Fast
Is the pressure to hold it all together leaving you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or like you’re never enough?
Do you have a nagging sense that something’s off or missing?
Are you feeling unsure about your future and how to move forward?
Are you having trouble rebuilding your identity and confidence after a break up or divorce?
Do you keep picking the wrong partners and end up in one-sided relationships?
Do you have relationships that are sucking the life out of you despite your best efforts?
Women come from all walks of life, each with unique experiences, yet a common thread unites them—the exhausting burden of feeling like they have to carry the world on their shoulders. The pressure to have it all together seeps into every role—being the dutiful daughter to aging parents, the financial safety net for struggling siblings, the rock everyone leans on, the supportive partner, the patient and loving mother, the hardest worker in the room—and the list never seems to end.
You're so used to putting everyone else first that your own needs barely make the list. You’re proud of being able to handle things on your own, but it’s wearing you down. Sleepless nights, restless days, self-doubt, and isolation are starting to take a toll—draining your energy, straining relationships, and seeping into your work and well-being. Whether you're facing a major life transition, reeling from divorce, or navigating complicated relationships, finding your way through it all can feel like an impossible maze.
The small escapes that once took the edge off are now taking over—creating more problems than they solve. Zoning out for hours on binge-worthy shows is leaving you disconnected, comfort food is packing on unwanted pounds, and those nightly glasses of wine? They’re wrecking your sleep and making mornings even harder. What once felt like relief is now just another cycle you’re stuck in.
You're ready to heal from the past, break free from old patterns, and build a more fulfilling future. Therapy offers a judgment-free space where you can untangle the chaos, gain clarity, and create lasting change. With the right support, you can step into a life where you feel secure, empowered, and truly at ease. You deserve that—and more!
The Hidden Toll: How Stress is Shaping Women's Mental Health
More Stress, Less Support
A 2023 survey of stress in America1 conducted by the American Psychological Association found that women reported higher average stress levels compared to men and would have benefitted from more support. This same survey indicated women were more likely than me to cite family responsibilities and relationships as main stressors in their lives. Furthermore, the women were more likely to say that they “strongly agree” that no one understands how stressed they are and it takes them longer to recover from stress. In addition to role overload women have to shoulder, they also have to contend with sexism, discrimination, and oppression that negatively impacts their mental health2.
Chronic stress3 can take a serious toll on the body, contributing to issues like muscle tension, migraines, digestive problems, heart disease, metabolic disorders (such as diabetes and obesity), weight fluctuations, fertility challenges, and chronic fatigue. Because women are more likely to internalize stress4, they may appear fine on the outside while silently battling its physical and emotional effects.
The Connection between Stress and Mental Health
The mental health gap between men and women is no secret—studies have long shown that women are more likely to struggle with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and eating disorders. But recent research suggests it’s not as simple as biology.
A 2023 study5 on healthcare providers during COVID-19 found that women were twice as likely as men to develop stress-related psychological symptoms. However, when researchers factored in things like pre-pandemic burnout, lower-paid roles (like nursing), and the extra weight of juggling work and family stress, those gender differences disappeared.
In other words, it’s not just about mental health—it’s about the systems and pressures that shape it. The good news? Therapy can help you untangle these challenges, build resilience, and reclaim a sense of balance and well-being.

Real Talk: Your Questions, Answered
What if therapy doesn’t work for me?
Therapy isn’t about forcing a one-size-fits-all solution on you. It’s about finding what actually works for you. If something isn’t clicking, we adjust. You’re not in this alone—we’ll work together to find the right approach to help you move forward.
Therapy is a partnership, and feeling comfortable with your therapist is key. That’s why I encourage you to trust your gut. If we’re not the right fit, that’s okay—I want you to find the support that serves you best.
What if I start therapy and it feels overwhelming or too hard? Do I have to make changes I’m not ready for?
Therapy isn’t about throwing you into the deep end—it’s about helping you wade in safely. If things ever feel too much, we slow down. Change isn’t about flipping your life upside down overnight. It’s about small, meaningful shifts that feel right for you. Therapy is about guiding—not forcing—you through that process. You’re always in control of what you share, and we’ll move at a pace that feels safe for you.
It sounds like you can help me, but I’ve heard therapy with out-of-network providers can be expensive. Why should I invest in private pay therapy when it’s more expensive than using insurance?
Great question! Investing in private pay therapy is about prioritizing personalized, high-quality care tailored to your needs, without the limitations set by insurance companies. While insurance can make therapy more accessible to people, it often dictates the number of sessions you can have and the type of issues that qualify for coverage.
For example, if you’re dealing with ongoing relationship challenges, insurance may only approve sessions addressing immediate symptoms like anxiety, leaving the root causes and lasting solutions unexplored.
The cost of settling for less personalized care can mean unresolved issues, ongoing stress, and more time and energy spent trying to piece things together on your own. Private pay therapy is a financial commitment, but it’s also an investment in lasting growth, clarity, and the skills to build the life you truly want. Many clients find that the long-term benefits—improved confidence, healthier relationships, and greater emotional balance—are worth every penny.
